SUMMARY:Pennsylvanians Together Community Conversation – Berrysburg\, PA
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Big Ugly Bill has passed the house and now is the time to make your voice heard. The bill calls for devastating cuts to Medicaid\, SNAP\, and the safety net\, all to pay for tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy. Pennsylvania voters\, like voters in other states\, strongly support these programs\, and with good reason. Medicaid provides critical support for millions of Pennsylvanians.\nThe reconciliation bill will terminate healthcare coverage for around 13 million Americans and kick approximately 3 million Americans off of SNAP. While new requirements for the state to help pay for the SNAP program would result in new expenditures for the state of $226 million to over a billion. The bill does all this harm while adding $2.4 trillion to the federal deficit.\nThis event is open to everyone. Join Pennsylvanians Together and the Pennsylvania Policy Center\, for a real conversation about proposals that could harm Pennsylvanians\, and what we can do about them. We will have experts to discuss what these cuts mean for us and our communities as well as explain what you can do to fight the cuts.

SUMMARY:Community Conversation: Healthcare\, Tax Changes\, & Impacts on PA Working Families
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE.\nThis event will cover the effects of potential cuts to Medicare\, SNAP\, and other crucial services—local healthcare system at risk!\nIt’s open to everyone. Join Pennsylvanians Together\, Keystone Progress\, and the Pennsylvania Policy Center for a real conversation about proposals that could harm Pennsylvanians and what we can do about them.\nDonald Trump and Republican members of Congress are calling for an extension and expansion of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. And they want to pay for it by making drastic reductions in federal spending for Medicaid\, CHIP\, and SNAP. Pennsylvania voters\, like voters in other states\, strongly support these programs\, and with good reason. Medicaid provides critical support for millions of Pennsylvanians.\nThese cuts pose a serious threat to Pennsylvania and our state budget\, potentially creating a multi-billion dollar shortfall and jeopardizing priorities like public education. Discussions in Washington about extending and expanding the 2017 tax cuts only heightens these threats for working families in Pennsylvania.\nThe event will feature the following speakers:\n– Dwayne Heisler\, Pennsylvanians Together campaign\n– Laura Nevitt\, Executive Director\, Keystone Progress\n– Margie Zelenak\, member of the PA Governor’s Long-Term Care Council assisting with the Strategic Plan for Aging in the Commonwealth\n– Rebecca MacTaggart\, United Spinal Association\n– Julie Bisi\, CEO of Artemis\, A Home\, Community and Employment Support organization\n– Clarissa Amond\, parent to child with Spina Bifida\n– Heather Tringle\, Medicare enrollee
