PENNSYLVANIANS TOGETHER
We are Pennsylvanians working together to create a commonwealth where we all can thrive, not just survive.Pennsylvanians Together is a nonpartisan campaign of diverse Pennsylvanians.
We come from every corner of the state. We are rich and poor, Black, brown, and white. We are native-born and we are immigrants, both documented and undocumented.
We came together in a series of community conversations and found we all have the same goals.
Our new campaign . . .
FOR OUR COMMON WEALTH
FOR OUR COMMON GOOD is our new campaign to raise new revenue from the wealthiest Pennsylvanians and multinational corporations who don’t pay their fair share in taxes. The new revenue is needed to address the coming fiscal crisis in our state and to meet our constitutional and moral obligation to fully and fairly fund our schools and fund our affordability agenda to make health care, child care, post-secondary education, and public transit more affordable.
The Challenge
Pennsylvanians working together in the 20th century—in community groups, advocacy organizations, and labor unions—brought us high wages, strong unions, public education at all levels, and civil rights.
Together, we created public policies that enabled our hard work to create a vibrant economy and a strong middle class.
But these achievements were imperfect. Too often, women, Black people, Indigenous people, immigrants, people with disabilities, LGBTQ+ people, and others were excluded.
And in recent years, those achievements—and our efforts to extend them to those previously excluded—have been under attack by right-wingers advancing a corporate-sponsored agenda.
By dividing us based on what we look like and where we live, they have dominated Pennsylvania politics for too long.
The Path Forward
We are determined to rise above our differences and work to achieve the goals we all share:
A Fair Economy
Education and Training
Access to Life’s Necessities
Tax Justice
Public Safety
A Safe, Healthy Climate and Environment
Our Basic Rights
A Robust Democracy
WE ALSO BELIEVE . . .
Everyone has a right to participate in our democracy and exercise freedom of speech and non-violent assembly.
Everyone has the right to age in dignity, free from the harms of ageism, abuse, neglect, and poor care and housing.
Everyone in the LGBTQ+ community has a right to live, learn, work, and retire free from the harm of bias or violence.
No school board or official should decide what kids should or shouldn’t read or remove materials from curricula or libraries.
