PA students are back in school, Labor Day has passed, and we’re entering a third month without a state budget — in violation of the PA constitution — thanks to inaction and political gamesmanship by Republicans in the state Senate!

Join us on Zoom at 1PM this Thursday for our monthly State Policy Action meeting, to learn about the damage being done to our state, as well as opportunities to join with other Pennsylvanians to fight back against GOP bullying.

This is no longer an inconvenience, but an escalating crisis, as school districts, pre-K programs, public transit agencies, and counties are struggling to operate after more than TWO MONTHS without state funding. So far, the Senate Republican impasse has halted $1.75 BILLION in payments to the Commonwealth’s public schools, and the past-due amount continues to rise.

Our featured guests will be Shirlee Howe, the manager of field operations for Children First, and Gillian Kratzer, deputy director of Better PA — key leaders in advocacy efforts across the state.
