• Community Conversation: Healthcare, Tax Changes, & Impacts on PA Working Families

Greensburg Garden and Civic Center 951 Old Salem Rd, Greensburg, PA, United States

REGISTER HERE. This event will cover the effects of potential cuts to Medicare, SNAP, and other crucial services—local healthcare system at risk! It's open to everyone. Join Pennsylvanians Together, Keystone Progress, and the Pennsylvania Policy Center for a real conversation about proposals that could harm Pennsylvanians and what we can do about them. Donald Trump and Republican members of Congress are calling for an extension and expansion of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. And they want to pay for it by making drastic reductions in federal spending for Medicaid, CHIP, and SNAP. Pennsylvania voters, like voters in other states, strongly support these programs, and with good reason. Medicaid provides critical support for millions of Pennsylvanians. These cuts pose a serious threat to Pennsylvania and our state budget, potentially creating a multi-billion dollar shortfall and jeopardizing priorities like public education. Discussions in Washington about extending and expanding the 2017 tax cuts only heightens these threats for working families in Pennsylvania. The event will feature the following speakers: – Dwayne Heisler, Pennsylvanians Together campaign – Laura Nevitt, Executive Director, Keystone Progress – Margie Zelenak, member of the PA Governor's Long-Term Care Council assisting with the Strategic Plan for Aging in […]

  • Fair Share America Rally in Washington, DC — Say NO to Tax Breaks for Billionaires and Corporations!

REGISTER HERE. More details to come, please check back! Federal Triangle location, Washington, DC Join tax justice advocates and constituents from across the country in Washington, D.C., April 10th, for the Federal Fightback Rally to tell our members of Congress to oppose taking away what millions of working people need—health care, education, food assistance, child care, and so much more—in order to pay for more tax breaks for billionaires and big corporations. Momentum is growing all over the country as Trump, Musk, and congressional leadership try to ram through tax breaks for the rich—now it’s time we take this fight to the steps of the Capitol. Your voice is critical to ensure that Members of Congress know that we are watching, and we won’t stand for it! Making taxes fair isn’t just a tax fight—this fight represents a key choice in the direction of our country. Are we a nation that prioritizes lining the pockets of billionaires and big corporations, or are we a nation that ensures everyday working Americans get ahead?

  • Tax Day Rally Across PA — Philly location

Philadelphia City Hall 1400 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Philadelphia, PA, United States

NOON – 2 p.m. PHILADELPHIA CITY HALL (For other locations, go HERE.) On April 15, join national and local organizations to demand billionaires pay their fair share and fight back against the rigged system and Republican attacks on our freedoms and communities. Philadelphians have always and consistently rejected trickle-down economics. We reject the idea that cutting taxes for the rich and wealthy businesses help working people at any level of government. Instead, we support fair taxes that ask the rich and businesses to pay their fair share of the taxes needed to support the essential services that make our lives better and are the real source of prosperity for all. This Tax Day, Trump and Congressional Republicans are pushing massive tax breaks for billionaires and corporations, rigging the system against workers and families. Their budget cuts Medicaid, food assistance, and education, while the wealthiest pay little to nothing. Pennsylvanians already contribute their fair share to fund schools, roads, and hospitals, but Trump’s tax policies make it even more unfair, forcing working people to pay more while the rich get off easy.
