Join Pennsylvanians Together, Keystone Progress, and the Pennsylvania Policy Center for a real conversation about proposals that could harm Pennsylvanians and what we can do about them. Donald Trump and Republican members of Congress are calling for an extension and expansion of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. And they want to pay for it by making drastic reductions in federal spending for Medicaid, CHIP, and SNAP. Pennsylvania voters, like voters in other states, strongly support these programs, and with good reason. Medicaid provides critical support for millions of Pennsylvanians. These cuts pose a serious threat to Pennsylvania and our state budget, potentially creating a multi-billion dollar shortfall and jeopardizing priorities like public education. Discussions in Washington about extending and expanding the 2017 tax cuts only heightens these threats for working families in Pennsylvania. On April 15, join national and local organizations to demand billionaires pay their fair share and fight back against the rigged system and Republican attacks on our freedoms and communities. Philadelphians have always and consistently rejected trickle-down economics. We reject the idea that cutting taxes for the rich and wealthy businesses help working people at any level of government. Instead, we support fair taxes that ask the rich and businesses to pay their fair share of the taxes needed to support the essential services that make our lives better and are the real source of prosperity for all. This Tax Day, Trump and Congressional Republicans are pushing massive tax breaks for billionaires and corporations, rigging the system against workers and families. Their budget cuts Medicaid, food assistance, and education, while the wealthiest pay little to nothing. Pennsylvanians already contribute their fair share to fund schools, roads, and hospitals, but Trump’s tax policies make it even more unfair, forcing working people to pay more while the rich get off easy.
