Trump, Musk, and Republicans in Congress like Ryan Mackenzie are attempting to pass a budget that will slash hundreds of billions from essential programs- including up to $880 billion in cuts to Medicaid — all to fund tax cuts for the ultra-rich. While they passed a budget blueprint in the House, the budget process requires agreement between the House and Senate, and lots of details still have to be worked out in committee, so the fight is far from over! Rep. Mackenzie won’t show up to hear from his constituents about how these reckless Medicaid cuts will impact our lives—so we’re hosting our own town hall. Join your neighbors to hear from people directly affected, share your own story about what’s at stake, and learn how we can fight back together. Our healthcare is on the line, and our voices matter. Join Pennsylvanians Together, Keystone Progress, and the Pennsylvania Policy Center for a real conversation about proposals that could harm Pennsylvanians and what we can do about them. Donald Trump and Republican members of Congress are calling for an extension and expansion of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. And they want to pay for it by making drastic reductions in federal spending for Medicaid, CHIP, and SNAP. Pennsylvania voters, like voters in other states, strongly support these programs, and with good reason. Medicaid provides critical support for millions of Pennsylvanians. These cuts pose a serious threat to Pennsylvania and our state budget, potentially creating a multi-billion dollar shortfall and jeopardizing priorities like public education.
