• PA Schools Work Rally at the PA Capitol!

Pennsylvania State Capitol - Front Steps 501 N. Third St., Harrisburg, PA, United States

Noon, May 13, 2025 – PA State Capitol REGISTER HERE. Our students are in classrooms that are underfunded and overcrowded. Teachers are paying out of pocket and picking up the slack. And public education is suffering. Each child in Pennsylvania has a right to an excellent public education. Every child, regardless of zip code, deserves access to a full curriculum, art and music classes, technical opportunities, and a safe, clean, stable environment. All children must be provided a level chance to succeed. PA Schools Work is fighting for equitable, adequate funding necessary to support educational excellence. Investing in public education excellence is the path to thriving communities, a stable economy and successful students.

  • Social Hour with Luzerne County Chapter — Action Together NEPA

Action Together NEPA HQ 30 E Northampton St , PA 18701, Wilkes-Barre, PA, United States

Join us for a special Luzerne County Chapter Social Hour on Wednesday, May 21st, as we focus on what communities do to support each other, and what we expect our elected representatives to do to have our backs! Hear from advocates and local faith leaders, and bring a donation (nonperishable food item or a monetary donation) for a local food bank if you’re able! Families and communities look out for one another. From our schools and healthcare providers to local organizations, we all strive to ensure that everyone not only gets by—but has the chance to thrive. That responsibility includes our elected officials. Right now, Congress is moving quickly on a reconciliation package that could gut vital safety net programs like Medicaid and SNAP, shifting the burden to states and local communities. These cuts would endanger families, strain local budgets, and jeopardize Pennsylvania’s ability to meet basic needs—all to pay for tax breaks for billionaires. We call on Representative Rob Bresnahan to honor his commitment to protect Medicaid and SNAP. The Republican-proposed cuts could strip health care from hundreds of thousands of people in our region and take food off the tables of families across the 8th District—all to benefit […]

  • Pennsylvanians Together Community Conversation – Bensalem, PA

Adventureland Day Camp & Picnics 6401 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA

REGISTER HERE! The Big Ugly Bill has passed the house and now is the time to make your voice heard. The bill calls for devastating cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and the safety net, all to pay for tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy. Pennsylvania voters, like voters in other states, strongly support these programs, and with good reason. Medicaid provides critical support for millions of Pennsylvanians. The reconciliation bill will terminate healthcare coverage for around 13 million Americans and kick approximately 3 million Americans off of SNAP. While new requirements for the state to help pay for the SNAP program would result in new expenditures for the state of $226 million to over a billion. The bill does all this harm while adding $2.4 trillion to the federal deficit. This event is open to everyone. Join Pennsylvanians Together and the Pennsylvania Policy Center, for a real conversation about proposals that could harm Pennsylvanians, and what we can do about them. We will have experts to discuss what these cuts mean for us and our communities as well as explain what you can do to fight the cuts.
