The bill calls for devastating cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and the safety net, all to pay for tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy. Pennsylvania voters, like voters in other states, strongly support these programs, and with good reason. Medicaid provides critical support for millions of Pennsylvanians. The reconciliation bill will terminate healthcare coverage for around 13 million Americans and kick approximately 3 million Americans off of SNAP. While new requirements for the state to help pay for the SNAP program would result in new expenditures for the state of $226 million to over a billion. The bill does all this harm while adding $2.4 trillion to the federal deficit. This event is open to everyone.
